　イエスは、フィリポ・カイサリア地方に行ったとき、弟子たちに、 「人々は、人の子のことを何者だと言っているか」とお尋ねになった。 弟子たちは言った。 「『洗礼者ヨハネだ』と言う人も、『エリヤだ』と言う人もいます。 ほかに、『エレミヤだ』とか、『預言者の一人だ』と言う人もいます。」 イエスが言われた。 「それでは、あなたがたはわたしを何者だと言うのか。」 シモン・ペトロが、「あなたはメシア、生ける神の子です」と答えた。 すると、イエスはお答えになった。 「シモン・バルヨナ、あなたは幸いだ。 あなたにこのことを現したのは、人間ではなく、わたしの天の父なのだ。 わたしも言っておく。 あなたはペトロ。わたしはこの岩の上にわたしの教会を建てる。 陰府の力もこれに対抗できない。 わたしはあなたに天の国の鍵を授ける。 あなたが地上でつなぐことは、天上でもつながれる。 あなたが地上で解くことは、天上でも解かれる。」 それから、イエスは、御自分がメシアであることをだれにも話さないように、と弟子たちに命じられた。

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Matthew 16,13-20.

Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”
They replied, "Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?"
Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God."
Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father.
And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it.
I will give you the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."
Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Messiah.
