福音朗読　ルカによる福音書　17章5～10節

　使徒たちが、「わたしどもの信仰を増してください」と言ったとき、 主は言われた。 「もしあなたがたにからし種一粒ほどの信仰があれば、 この桑の木に、『抜け出して海に根を下ろせ』と言っても、 言うことを聞くであろう。
　あなたがたのうちだれかに、畑を耕すか羊を飼うかする僕がいる場合、 その僕が畑から帰って来たとき、 『すぐ来て食事の席に着きなさい』と言う者がいるだろうか。 むしろ、『夕食の用意をしてくれ。腰に帯を締め、 わたしが食事を済ますまで給仕してくれ。 お前はその後で食事をしなさい』と言うのではなかろうか。 命じられたことを果たしたからといって、主人は僕に感謝するだろうか。 あなたがたも同じことだ。 自分に命じられたことをみな果たしたら、 『わたしどもは取るに足りない僕です。 しなければならないことをしただけです』と言いなさい。」

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke 17,5-10.

The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith."
The Lord replied, "If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to (this) mulberry tree, 'Be uprooted and planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.
Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, 'Come here immediately and take your place at table'?
Would he not rather say to him, 'Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished'?
Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded?
So should it be with you. When you have done all you have been commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants; we have done what we were obliged to do.'"
